I. Love. Gabourey. Sidibe. I think the Precious star is the funniest woman to come around in a long time. I want to be her best friend. I think she can do no wrong.

That said, I don’t think I’m biased in saying these new promos are the best spots I’ve seen in quite some time…if not ever.

If you’ve ever watched anything ‘s ever been on (outside of her movie Precious), you know that she is one freakin’ hilarious actress. Thankfully, it didn’t take a Facebook campaign for the producers of Saturday Night Live to recognize this.

It’s just been announced that the Oscar nominee will be hosting the program later this season. Although a date has not yet been announced, it’s believed she will appear sometime in May (after Betty White’s stint on May 8).

The Blades of Glory duo won’t be making us laugh on Comedy Central after all.

(Napoleon Dynamite, School for Scoundrels) has dropped out of a planned sitcom on the cable network which is being produced by (just about every other funny movie made since 2002).

Very little info is being offered on the split, only this very ambiguous statement: “Comedy Central, Gary Sanchez Productions and Jon Heder have mutually decided to part ways over creative differences with the character. Jon wishes the show nothing but success, and is very grateful for the opportunity.”

It looks like NBC has struck (comedic) gold.

Over the weekend, actress Betty White confirmed to People magazine that she will indeed be appearing on Saturday Night Live. Her booking comes just over two months after a Facebook campaign was launched on her behalf.

“I don’t know why or how,” White said about the fan support, “but it’s been wonderful.”

Although Entertainment Weekly previously reported that she would be involved in a “Women of Comedy”-themed broadcast, the 88-year-old did not elaborate on her upcoming stint.

An internet campaign urging the network to get Betty White on Saturday Night Live appears to have finally worked. Execs are reportedly sealing a deal that would bring the comedienne - and several other funny ladies - to the stage.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the 88-year-old’s appearance may become part of a proposed “Women of Comedy” event. Others rumored for that possible show include Molly Shannon, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler—all SNL alums.

As of today, nearly 430,000 people have already joined the “Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!” page on Facebook.

No projected air date for White’s broadcast has yet been announced.
